Privacy Policy

Lobwise is a padel scoreboard app. It is built to collect nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, and no login. We do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind, and no personal information is sent to us or to anyone else.

What stays on your device

Your settings (team names, language, golden-point rule, paired-clicker details) and the current match score are saved locally on your device so the app can pick up where you left off. Completed matches are saved too, including the date, team names, set scores and a point-by-point record used to show your match history and match report. A short rolling diagnostic log is also kept locally to help troubleshoot problems if you ask us for support. None of this leaves your device, and none of it is readable by us. Deleting the app removes it all, and “Clear” in Match history deletes the saved matches at any time.

Bluetooth

If you pair a Bluetooth “clicker” button, the app uses Bluetooth only to receive your button presses during a match. It stores the pairing on your device so it can reconnect. No other Bluetooth data is accessed or kept. On Android, Bluetooth needs the “Nearby devices” permission, and while a clicker is connected the app shows a notification so Android keeps the connection alive during your match.

Spoken score

The score is announced using your device’s built-in text-to-speech. Nothing is recorded, and the microphone is not used.

Garmin watch (optional)

If you choose to use a Garmin watch, the app talks to the watch through the Garmin Connect™ app on your phone: it receives your button presses and sends the current score to the watch to display. This happens locally between your phone and watch. The Lobwise watch app also records your match as a padel activity (time, heart rate and calories) using Garmin’s standard activity recording, which Garmin Connect then syncs and stores under your Garmin account. Lobwise itself does not receive, store or transmit any of this, and does not access your Garmin account. Your use of Garmin Connect and any activity saved there is governed by Garmin’s own privacy policy.

Apple Watch (optional)

If you use the Lobwise Apple Watch app, it communicates with the Lobwise app on your iPhone over Apple’s WatchConnectivity, locally between your devices. During a match the watch app can start a workout: it reads your heart rate and active energy from Apple Health and, when the match ends, saves the match to the Health app as a workout, alongside your other workouts. This is handled by Apple Health on your own devices and under your control. Lobwise does not receive that data, does not send it to any server, and does not share it or use it for advertising or marketing. You can decline the Health permission and still score matches. A short diagnostic log on the watch (workout start and end, and the heart rate, calories and step values at those moments) stays on the watch.

Sharing a result

“Share result” creates an image of a match on your device. It is only shared when you choose to send it, using your device’s share sheet, to whichever app you pick. Lobwise does not upload it anywhere.

Purchases

Lobwise offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited matches after the 14-day free trial. Payment, and redeeming any promotional code, is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see or store your payment details; the app only asks the store, on your device, whether the unlock is owned so it can restore it if you reinstall.

Links to other services

The “Recommended gear” section opens your device’s web browser to third-party sites such as Amazon or flic.io. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Lobwise may earn a small commission from purchases made through those links, at no extra cost to you. No personal information is shared with them by the app.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, because it does not collect information at all.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
